Austrian eyewear manufacturer Rolf. is among a select group of optical companies that have been recognised in a new MIDO award presentation for sustainable eyewear.
The company’s commitment to sustainability, natural materials and innovation was recognised recently in Milan by panels of experts at Mido’s inaugural CSE (Certified Sustainable Eyewear) Awards, with its Wire Collection receiving the Award in the European Sunglasses category.
This sustainability milestone is Rolf’s innovative 100% plant-based material made from rapidly renewable castor beans and advanced 3D printed production methods, meaning the Wire Collection scores high on biodegradability, but low on impact to the planet.
Coloured bio-based threads inlayed within the frame’s structure, elevating style, functionality, and sustainability define frames in the Wire Collection. Timeless frame shapes are no longer just stylish fashion accessories; they can now make a clear statement about preserving our planet.
